Practicing Massage Therapy since 2008
My name is Teresa Edmilao and I am a Registered Massage Therapist from Vancouver, Canada. I have been practicing massage therapy since 2008. I have a diploma in Massage Therapy (3000 hour program) from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster, Canada.
I have worked with clients from all walks for life: elite athletes, surfers, yogis, desk workers, trade workers, dancers, children and youth, pregnant women, cancer patients, elderly and motor vehicle accident victims.
I have a passion for helping people connect with their bodies. I also want to assist others with their healing journey and I strive to inspire people to live an active and healthy lifestyle.
I am trained and experienced in:
Myofascial Release Technique
Trigger Point Release
Joint Mobilization
Sports Massage
Pregnancy Massage
Rehabilitative Exercise
IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)
Hydrotherapy
PNF Stretching
Relaxation Massage and more.
In the past I have been a personal trainer and fitness instructor and I have been active in many sports throughout my life- surfing, swimming, snowboarding, skimboarding, hiking, and cycling. I am also a fire dancer and hula hoop dancer. I have experienced numerous injuries from these activities and I have personally been through the rehabilitation process many times. It was these experiences that lead me to massage therapy. I know that massage is an essential therapy in getting through physical injuries as well it benefits the mind to ease emotional traumas.
